Hat Trick for M&D Care Catering team!

Our fantastic team at Ynystawe Specialist Residential Service achieved a 5* food hygiene rating today (Tuesday 14th March), after an unexpected inspection from the Food Standards Agency.

This achievements marks a hat trick for our catering team, who only last month gained a 5* rating for our Tegfan service. Both services join Ty Hiraeth in being 5* food hygiene rated services.

The visit inspects varies aspects of food hygiene within the service, including the handling, storage and preparation of food, cleanliness of the facilities and the management of food safety. The 5* rating is the highest rating given by the Food Standards Agency, and is a huge complement to the expectational work carried out by our catering team.

I'm thrilled to have been able to help Ynystawe achieve a 5* food hygiene rating, a massive well done to the team, and a special congratulations to the Ynystawe team, who are always extremely conscientious when it comes to compliance and food safety. A massive congratulations to all!”

Level 5 Achievements for Chris!

Congratulations Chris!

Congratulations to Chris Carmichael, our PBM Trainer, on achieving his Positive Behaviour Support Level 5 Qualification.

Chris started with us in 2020, and since then has sought out professional development opportunities, using his knowledge and experience to guide, encourage and motivate those working within our services.

Chris Carmichael, PBM Trainer

Here at M&D Care, we use Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) as a behaviour management system to understand what maintains an individual’s challenging behaviour.  By utilising Active Support and PBS, we can meet the needs of the people we support without needing to use restrictive practice. We pride ourselves on the fact that those prescribed physical interventions have either rarely/or never been used.

In the words of his colleagues,

"Chris is the PBM trainer every learner needs, using his knowledge and expertise to motivate and guide those around him to achieve their own milestones. Chris is a highly valued member of the Learning & Development team, and we are all very pleased to be able to celebrate his achievements with him."

We are keen to invest in our employees’ career development and pride ourselves in providing opportunities for further training and development.

We are extremely lucky to have such an experienced PBM trainer amongst the team. No doubt Chris will be exploring the next learning opportunity, not only to expand his own knowledge by to extend the offer of expertise to our teams at M&D Care.

Congratulations Chris!
