About Rotherslade

Rotherslade is a home comprised of six self-contained flats with shared facilities. Each flat has its own kitchen and living space, accompanied by communal spaces, for all residents to socialise together. The communal spaces host several game nights, with an outdoor seating area overlooking the Gower Peninsular. Rotherslade is staffed 24 hours a day, with an office in the ground floor flat.

Rotherslade House is on the edge of the rural village and beach community of Mumbles. This area has been officially recognised as an area of outstanding beauty with sunny views of Swansea Bay. The house itself lies on a hill overlooking Rotherslade Bay, an area of breath-taking beauty with views of Swansea bay, and accessible by foot in less than a minute.

The town of Mumbles is a 5-minute walk from the home with the nearest bus stop at the end of the street, serving Gower and Swansea city centre. The town itself has plenty to offer, there are a wide range of shops ranging from local bakeries to high street names. There are many bars, restaurants, and ice cream parlors to enjoy a meal or snack.

As the home is only 5 miles from Swansea city centre the recreational facilities of Swansea are easily within reach including LC2 – Swansea Leisure Centre, Cline Gardens and Singleton Park, two beautiful spacious green areas. There is a stunning coastline spanning both directions from the house, with coastal paths ideal for exercise whether it be a gentle stroll, a running exercise, or a bike ride. The Swansea area is filled with historical interests, such as castles, museums and art galleries. The centre itself has two cinemas, a bowling alley and a wide range of high street brands in commercial shopping, restaurants and bars. Swansea also has many educational facilities, with colleges, day centres and voluntary agencies available. The home has developed positive professional relationships with these agencies through supporting our service users to attend activities and classes at these establishments.

The local GP and pharmacies are only a 5-minute walk away, while Singleton Hospital and Morriston Hospitals are only 4 and 8 miles away respectively.

The local area provides plenty of opportunities to access the variety of activities available, examples of which are below:
