About Ty hiraeth
Ty Hiraeth is situated within a Carmarthenshire village and makes use of extensive private grounds and a converted Bible college. The accommodation, staff support and assistive technology can be adapted to assessed individual needs.
Ty Hiraeth is the most recent of M&D Care’s residential services to deliver the Annex Model of Care to people who may have learning disabilities, autism, mental illness, or an acquired brain injury. M&D Care believes that getting to know the person and their individual needs, is more important than their diagnosis. This model of care enables us to design and develop individual environments that meet the complex needs of people whose behaviour has been experienced as very challenging in previous placements, often resulting in multiple placement breakdowns and/or hospital admissions. The service consists of a total of nine places – six ground-floor – and all of which are fully self-contained and adaptable with own living areas, kitchen (if required), bathroom and bedroom. In total, there are eight gardens across the grounds.
Ty Hiraeth Bungalow
There is a specially designed bungalow for two people that provides accommodation away from the main building whilst retaining use of the communal facilities available. Residents of the bungalow are supported within their own separate living and garden areas. This service provides adaptable and robust high need environments for people who find living and sharing personal space with others very difficult.
