5* for Tegfan

Our fantastic team at Tegfan Specialist Residential Service achieved a 5* food hygiene rating yesterday (Tuesday 17th January), after an unexpected inspection from the Food Standards Agency.

The visit inspects varies aspects of food hygiene within the service, including the handling, storage and preparation of food, cleanliness of the facilities and the management of food safety. The 5* rating is the highest rating given by the Food Standards Agency, and is a huge complement to the expectational work carried out by our catering team.

“I'm thrilled to have been able to help Tegfan achieve a 5* food hygiene rating, a massive well done to the team, and a special congratulations to Pat, our Chef and the Tegfan management team, who are always extremely conscientious when it comes to compliance and food safety. A massive congratulations to all!”

Tegfan | Phase 2 Opening

Following the opening of our newest Specialist Residential Service, Tegfan, we are pleased to have opened the service’s Phase 2 development.

Working with Thomas Homes West Ltd, the Tegfan site was transformed from a derelict local authority care home into a state of the art residential service, and opened to its first new inhabitants in May 2022. The service, like its sister services Ty Hiraeth and Ynystawe, boasts bespoke and adaptable environments to assist those with complex and changing needs of the individuals requiring support.

Tegfan phase 2 provides additional rooms to enable us to provide a safe and adaptive space for more individuals with complex challenges, including individuals with needs relating to Learning Disabilities, Autism and Mental Health.

The space mirrors the flat-led model and utilisation of assistive technology from Phase 1, utilising sensory lighting, audio systems, and interior styling to create a soothing and calming ambience.

We hope this addition to the Tegfan service will enable us to provide even more supported people with a nurturing environment and access to personalised support.

We look forward to growing our Tegfan family, by welcoming our new supported people and their families to the service.
