We are excited to announce our continued partnership with the Llanelli Half Marathon, proudly resuming our status as headline sponsors for the event which is set to take place on the 25th September 2022.
The event, which last year boasted first time hosts to the prestigious Welsh Half Marathon Championships, attracted a crowd of some of the fastest athletes in Wales, making the event highly competitive in the elite field. Due to the challenging weather conditions of last year’s race, this year sees the event brought forward, to the proposed date of September 25th.
David Martin-Jewell, Race Director, from Front Runner Events said, “We are so pleased to continue our partnership with M&D Care as headline sponsor of the Llanelli Half Marathon. We have a great collaboration between the team at M&D Care and Front Runner Events because promoting the good health and wellbeing of people are the very core of what we do. The last eighteen months have been extremely difficult, but we are excited to be back doing what we love and delivering first-class events!. The team and I look forward to working with M&D Care over the coming year to deliver another amazing event in 2022!”
The race route will, such as last year, take runners along the Millennium Costal path, where participants will be able to appreciate the magnificent views the course offers.
Michael Bevan, our Director of Operations, said, “We are very excited to announce our sponsorship for the 2022 Llanelli Half Marathon. These past two years have been a difficult time for everyone, and events like the M&D Care Llanelli Half Marathon promotes good health and wellbeing and enables us all to focus on positive futures. We are passionate about our community and events like these show that together we can achieve and overcome any barriers put in front of us. We look forward to seeing the athletes and our very own run team take part in next year’s event!”
Entry is now open for those wishing to take part in the fully closed road race hosted in the iconic Parc Y Scarlets. To be part of the eagerly anticipated event, and guarantee your spot in the M&D Care Llanelli Half Marathon, sign up on the Llanelli half website.
Our Support Worker Max Rivett, ‘Braved the Shave’ on March 12th 2022 to raise money for a well-deserved cause.
Max who works in our Supported Living Service had been growing his hair in anticipation for the big day. By completing this thrilling task, he hopes to raise as much money as possible to donate to cause close to his heart, Macmillan Cancer Support.
Macmillan Cancer Support provides a holistic approach to support by taking time to understand those affected by cancer, so that support, tools and inspiration can be offered to aid them along their cancer journey.
Max has said, ‘After recently losing a loved one to cancer, I wanted to show my support. I will be shaving my head and donating every bit of money to Macmillan cancer research.’
We’d like to take this opportunity to thank Max for all his support for Macmillan Cancer Support, and congratulate him on completing this ‘Hair Raising’ task.
