Comprehensive Induction

We are extremely proud of our in-depth induction programme for new starters. We want to ensure our staff understand our organisational vision and values. Our induction process is structured to ensure you are equipped at the very start of your time with us with the right knowledge and tools to enable you to deliver high quality care.

The programme is designed to give you a full understanding of M&D Care, whether you are an experienced support worker with a passion for delivering outstanding care, or you’re looking for a career change into care but have no care experience, our induction will build your confidence and understanding before you are placed in one of our nine services.

You will attend a week-long, 30-hour* induction at out Head Office training facility, which includes values-based learning, additional training around core skills and specific health conditions training. You will be given opportunity to complete a number of on-line courses as well as receiving a full day of Positive Behaviour Management training. A full HR induction will guide you through the terms and conditions of your contract of employment and provide you with practical information regarding your role with us.

Once you have been placed in of our services you will be given a comprehensive Manager’s induction, which provides you with an opportunity to have specific information about the people we support and understand how your area of service operates. You will complete a number of shadow shifts as part of the induction process and will have full peer-to-peer support.

*We have shortened our induction programme from 5 days down to 1 due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Staff Health and Well-Being

At M&D Care, we care about the health and well-being of our staff. We understand that without staff that are well and are at work, M&D Care would not be able to deliver quality and effective support to the people we support. We are aware than from time to time our employees do need to take timeout of the workplace due to sickness absence. The nature of our shift patterns and services allow us to offer flexibility to staff to phase back into the work place in a way that is both healthy and safe.
