Support Worker

Our Support Workers play a vital role in the lives of the people we support and their families. You will be involved in supporting the daily activities of the people we support both in our residential homes and within the community.

The activities will be person-centred; promoting their dignity, independence and well-being. We operate a number of services – some are complex and it may be that you are required to work within challenging environments; others are to mentor the people we support in becoming more independent, help them manage their social activities more effectively. For example accompanying them to Art Class or Choir or taking them to the local supermarket for their weekly shop.

For the people we support, you will promote independence in accessing the local community, and encourage engaging in work where possible. In a domestic setting, you will help individuals learn to cook and keep their living space clean and tidy. The activities you will take part in are wide-ranging and centred around the individual you are supporting If you don’t have any previous care experience, we will provide the relevant training and will support you to develop your understanding of clinical issues and create your own career pathway, ensuring that you feel confident in all aspects of the role.

Senior Support Worker

You may already be a committed and experienced Support Worker looking to take that next step to leading a team.

Our Senior Support Workers play a pivotal role in our leadership team at our homes and domiciliary care and are fundamental in providing the outstanding care the people we support deserve. As a Senior Support Worker, you will further your knowledge and experience through working with and supporting existing Managers within the company, and to use these experiences to support the day to day activities of one of our Residential Home or Domiciliary services. You will gain experience in managing staff and help develop creative and innovate approaches in order to a deliver a person centred and outstanding service.

Deputy Manager

Work with the registered Manager to efficiently manage the day to day running of the home. Allocate resources and monitor performance to deliver a high quality of care to the people we support. Manage all aspects of the staff team and provide leadership to ensure staff are clear about their respective duties and responsibilities and have the support they need to carry out their roles safely.

Trainee Manager

The Trainee Manager role is part of a Trainee Management Scheme. It offers an exciting opportunity for anyone who wishes to embark on a career in care. The role allows you to gain knowledge and experience through working with and supporting existing Managers within the company, and to use these experiences to fast track your career. You will promote and participate in activities, encourage choice and new opportunities for the people we support. The role requires you to actively participate in the running and management of the home or service. General administrative duties to assist with the running of the home are undertaken as well as deputising in the absence of the manager. We have designed the scheme to be as inclusive as possible, and we enrol you on to a QCF level 5 in Health and Social Care qualification and support you in your progress.

The scheme has been designed to provide the Trainee Manager with in-depth understanding of how M&D Care operates, as such you will have the opportunity to work at all of our nine placements during the scheme.


Our management team is key to our success in ensuring we fulfil our vision. The team is made up of Registered Home Managers, Deputy Managers and Trainee Managers who report to our Head of Service. As our business is grows so does our management team. We value our managers and look for individuals with the ability to bring ideas, have hands-on strong leadership skills and can get the best out of their team. We develop our managers offering inspiring leadership programs and career paths. A number of our existing Managers started their career at M&D Care as support workers and have taken opportunities to gain exposure to challenges and experiences that have aided their career progression to Management level.


We have an excellent Positive Behaviour Support Team (PBS) at M&D Care. It is as a resource utilised by Support Workers, Senior Support Workers and Managers across all of our services. The team’s practitioners use PBS and Active Support to provide a holistic and person-centred approach that seeks to find the cause and function of behaviours that may challenge services. The team supports colleagues to design a range of positive interventions, including proactive and reactive responses, teaching skills and lifestyle changes.

PBS/PBM Practitioner

This role works within the care facilities offering support, advice, training, supervision and analysis of behaviours that challenge in the people we support and attitude, behaviours and support to our staff.

The role entails the specialist training at Level 4 PBS and accredited ABMU trainer status for PBM.This allows for proactive root cause analysis of behaviours that challenge within a daily a basis at the service. These are supervised and appraised by the Positive Behaviour Support team.

Head Office

Our Head Office support, based in Llangennech, Llanelli, provides key business support to all of our residential and domiciliary services. Our dedicated professionals provide support in the following areas – human resources, training; communications and marketing; finance; transport and estates ensuring all aspects of in these areas run smoothly. We are looking for self-motivated individuals with excellent communication skills. You don’t always need relevant experience as we will support and train you.


Our maintenance team help our residents feel like they are at home and enable our staff to work in comfortable surroundings. The contribution made by our maintenance team is never undervalued. Their dedication to delivering excellence, diligence, a sense of pride and attention to detail ensures the highest levels of comfort and safety for our residents in all areas of our homes.
