We are looking for a Senior Support Worker to join our brand new residential service in Ammanford, for people with Learning Disabilities, Autism and behaviours that may challenge. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in an exceptional service, providing outstanding care and support. Tegfan will be opening its doors in March 2022.

The role involves direct support to the users of our service as well as shift leading. The role would suit someone kind and compassionate who works well as part of a team and can provide individualised care and support to people.

*Please note even though this service is not opening until March 2022, onboarding is starting now to allow plenty of time for training. Successful applicants will have the opportunity to work in a similar service until the official opening.

The Role

You will need to be:

  • · Committed to providing an excellent level of care for vulnerable people with mental health and personality challenges
  • · Providing focused support to assist people with individual tasks and personal care needs.
  • · Proficient to a good standard of written and reading English with a good standard of numeracy
  • · Committed to enabling positive outcomes for the people you support
  • · Knowledgeable about issues relating to equal opportunities and how these will affect employees and people we support
  • · Able to work independently – this could involve taking sole responsibility for a service or work area during a shift
  • · An effective communicator at all levels.
  • · Be able to provide the Support Workers with the direction, leadership, guidance and support they need to ensure residents they are assigned to receive person centred care in line with their individual needs.
  • · A high level of personal integrity towards providing an exceptional standard of service.
Qualifications

A Senior Support Worker should ideally be QCF qualified. If not already qualified you should be working towards your QCF qualification. Proven experience in care is essential.
