We Did It! Our Team Ran The Llanelli Half Marathon.

Today we were proud headline sponsors and title partner of the Llanelli Half Marathon 2021. Despite the harsh weather conditions it was a fantastic event that brought the whole community together.
As a local family run business, we feel, now more than ever before, that it’s important to come together and support events such as these which promote good health and wellbeing. We see exercise as an integral part of physical and mental wellbeing, and this is something we actively encourage amongst our staff and the people we support.
Here at M&D Care we share similar values to the Front Runner Events, we are an inclusive company which supports people to achieve their goals and aspirations. We are passionate about our community and hope that this shared vision will extend to the wider community and beyond so that together we can achieve and overcome any barriers put in front of us.
Well done to all those who took part today, especially Team M&D Care who were running in support of the The Paul Ridd Foundation, a charity M&D Care have a shared connection with. The whole team were amazing!! 👏 👏

A fond Farewell to Roselyn Williams

Today we said a fond farewell to one of our longest serving Support Workers Roselyn Williams. On behalf of M&D Care we would like to wish Ros all the very best in her retirement and thank her for providing such outstanding care and support for the people we support and for her long serving loyalty and dedication.

In Ros’s words – “I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for welcoming me into M&D Care for over 11 years, I’ve had the best years of my working career. I will miss you all, staff and the people we support with whom I have worked with along the way. There has been some challenging times and many happy and memorable moments and I would not change a thing. Thank you all”.

Introducing our New Specialist Residential Service Opening in March 2022

Building upon the success of Ynystawe Lodge and Ty Hiraeth and from overwhelming feedback received from families, commissioning and care teams we are very excited to introduce to you our new specialist residential service opening in March 2022. Tegfan will be located in Ammanford and will provide the much needed support for individuals with intensive complex and high-risk behavioural needs. As part of this bespoke development we have the pleasure of once again working with Thomas Homes West Ltd, who have exceptional experience in designing specially adapted properties.

Like Ynystawe Lodge and Ty Hiraeth, Tegfan will incorporate our flat-led model of support, which offers the use of positive interventions within individually designed environments. This bespoke model enables and supports people who have very complex and challenging needs within the principles of least restrictive practice. Accommodation comprises of two complexes, located across two floors with 7 self-contained flats on the ground floor with individual gardens and 6 self-contained flats on the first floor.

We aim to offer a high standard of service, to make a fundamental and lasting improvement in the quality of life for individuals requiring support. We believe that diagnosis is no barrier, and the most important part of our service is empowering people to face their individual challenges and providing support to enable them to become more independent and live fulfilling lives. We look forward to welcoming and working with commissioners, health and social care teams and new supported people and their families to Tegfan.

Look out for regular updates in the coming months on this exciting new development.

Michelle Martin Winner of Wales Women in Business Awards 2021

We are extremely proud to announce that our very own Michelle Martin not only won her category award of Professional Women of the Year, but also the overarching Women in Business Award 2021.

The judges commented on how Michelle had shown outstanding commitment and dedication towards her employees and the people supported at M&D Care and the capacity to innovate even in the most challenging and unpresented of times. Not even a global pandemic has prevented M&D Care from recruiting even more staff and further developing their business, whilst continuing to offer outstanding care and support to those most vulnerable from within our local communities.

The Wales Women in Business awards recognise the talented, inspirational and hard working women leading the way for the next generation of entrepreneurs and business leaders. These awards shine the spotlight on the women at the heart of South West Wales’ business community and pay tribute to the women whose determination and success have made a vital contribution to our community and beyond.

Michelle deserves this recognition for her outstanding service and commitment to all the people we support and staff here at M&D Care. We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Michelle on her outstanding achievement.
