About the Awards

The Great British Care Awards are highly recognised within the sector and have been running since 2016. The awards are a series of regional events throughout the UK and are a celebration of excellence across the care sector. The purpose of the awards are to pay tribute to those individuals who have demonstrated outstanding excellence within their field of work.

There are twenty one awards categories available for nomination, which represent all areas of the social care sector, whether it be older people or specialist services, residential or home care. From frontline staff such as care workers and care managers to people who have made an impact in other ways such as training and innovation.

The awards are all inclusive, bringing together the statutory, independent and voluntary sectors, as well as unpaid carers; promoting joint working.  Working in partnership with care partners and local care associations is at the heart of the initiative; working and linking directly with local managers and networks to further promote the event.

Dignity Action Day 2022

Dignity Action Day #DAD2022 is an annual opportunity to contribute to upholding people’s rights to dignity and provide a truly memorable day for people receiving care.

Dignity Action Day aims to ensure people who use care services are treated as individuals and are given choice, control and a sense of purpose in their daily lives.

Here at M&D Care we are committed to providing the very best level of care and dignity for all the people we support. We are proud to pledge our support.

Across our services, our staff and the people we support have been constructing their very own dignity tree’s – highlighting what ‘Dignity’ means to them individually.

One of our services, Croft House, created their Digni-Tree slightly differently (see below) to others this year. By purchasing a small tree, their aim is to plant the tree and watch their very own Digni-Tree grow and thrive bigger each year so that everyone can be reminded of Dignity Day. Each person we support wrote a tag with what dignity means to them, these were then added to the tree.

We’ve had a brilliant Dignity Action Day here at M&D Care, reflecting on what Dignity means to us and ensuring we as a company give the very best level of care.
