A fond Farewell to Roselyn Williams

Today we said a fond farewell to one of our longest serving Support Workers Roselyn Williams. On behalf of M&D Care we would like to wish Ros all the very best in her retirement and thank her for providing such outstanding care and support for the people we support and for her long serving loyalty and dedication.

In Ros’s words – “I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for welcoming me into M&D Care for over 11 years, I’ve had the best years of my working career. I will miss you all, staff and the people we support with whom I have worked with along the way. There has been some challenging times and many happy and memorable moments and I would not change a thing. Thank you all”.

Introducing our New Specialist Residential Service Opening in March 2022

Building upon the success of Ynystawe Lodge and Ty Hiraeth and from overwhelming feedback received from families, commissioning and care teams we are very excited to introduce to you our new specialist residential service opening in March 2022. Tegfan will be located in Ammanford and will provide the much needed support for individuals with intensive complex and high-risk behavioural needs. As part of this bespoke development we have the pleasure of once again working with Thomas Homes West Ltd, who have exceptional experience in designing specially adapted properties.

Like Ynystawe Lodge and Ty Hiraeth, Tegfan will incorporate our flat-led model of support, which offers the use of positive interventions within individually designed environments. This bespoke model enables and supports people who have very complex and challenging needs within the principles of least restrictive practice. Accommodation comprises of two complexes, located across two floors with 7 self-contained flats on the ground floor with individual gardens and 6 self-contained flats on the first floor.

We aim to offer a high standard of service, to make a fundamental and lasting improvement in the quality of life for individuals requiring support. We believe that diagnosis is no barrier, and the most important part of our service is empowering people to face their individual challenges and providing support to enable them to become more independent and live fulfilling lives. We look forward to welcoming and working with commissioners, health and social care teams and new supported people and their families to Tegfan.

Look out for regular updates in the coming months on this exciting new development.

Our Values Recognition Awards

As part of our values week celebration, we launched our very own M&D Care value awards. We asked staff and the people we support to submit nominations for staff who they felt best represented our values and have gone above and beyond in their role to making a difference. We were overwhelmed with the amount of nominations received from staff and the people we support, which made the judging process extremely difficult.

On behalf of M&D Care we would like to take this opportunity to thank all our staff and the people we support for submitting such wonderful nominations, it was heart-warming to see so many fantastic comments about so many of our dedicated employees, who are making a difference each and every day.

We are delighted to announce the 6 winners of our staff recognition value awards and we thank all of our winners for their dedication and commitment and congratulate them on this fantastic achievement. All our winners have truly been outstanding and excellent ambassadors of our values.
