We are delighted to announce that at the National Learning Disabilities & Autism Awards 2022, held on Friday 8th July in Birmingham, M&D Care won the Employer Award.
We are so proud to bring this award back to Wales and share this outstanding achievement with you all. The judges shared the following words;
“M&D Care have adopted an ethos of valuing, retaining and developing staff, to provide person-centred care and support. Despite the recent challenges for the sector they have adopted innovative ways to nurture growth and develop the business. Their family values ensure that they really do put people first”.
Our Co-Founder and Company Development Director, Michelle Martin-Davies commented on the fantastic achievement saying, “It’s a great honour to have been recognised nationally for the way in which we value, retain and develop our staff. Despite the challenging and unprecedented of times the care sector has faced over the last two years, the dedication, care and commitment our employees have shown towards the people we support has truly been outstanding. This achievement would not have been possible without them.”
Head of People & Culture, Gemma Howells followed, “For me one of the greatest assets of M&D Care is its people. An integral part of our people-first culture is treating people with respect and ensuring everyone has a sense of belonging. Placing people at the heart of everything we do is essential, but also listening and hearing their voices is vital. It’s imperative that we are passionate about the culture of our business and remain innovative in our approach, because it’s this passion that will inspire others.”
Awards such as these shine a much needed spotlight on this sector and the workers that make it great. As a passionate social care provider M&D Care will continue to ensure that the voices of the people supported and their carers are heard well into the future and will continue to showcase the amazing contributions care workers make to the lives of the most vulnerable people in our communities. We hope to continue our representation of the care sector in Wales for many more award ceremonies to come.
This exceptional achievement could not be possible without hard work and support of all our employees. We thank all of you for your continued dedication and commitment to the people we support.
