We are delighted to welcome Sion Jones to the company, bringing with him a wealth of health and social care experience.
Sion has taken on the role of Registered Manager at our specialist support service, Ynystawe Lodge, and will be supported in his role by an experienced and dedicated team.
My name is Sion and I’m the newly appointed registered manager of Ynystawe lodge. This is diverse role but fundamentally it is to ensure that we (our team) are providing an exemplary standard of care to enriched the quality of life to those who we support.I have worked within the health and social care sector for the past 18 years. I have worked across a variety of settings in various roles, predominantly working with adults with a learning disability, mental health needs, Autistic Spectrum Conditions and complex needs. I have also managed an older adult extra care scheme as well as a children’s residential service.I have been a PBM trainer for 8 years and have a passion for contributing to a systemic reduction of restrictive practice.I was aware of M&D’s positive reputation and I am very much looking forward to making contributions to the organisations continued success and development.Outside of my work life, I love spending time with my own family, enjoy taking on a DIY project, photography and I have rekindled my cricket come back from retirement.
Ynystawe Lodge has been specifically designed to offer enhanced accommodation for those who present with challenging behaviours, and was developed and commissioned in response to the identified need of providing support to those who require an environment that has the ability to change around their specific needs, rather than the person needing to fit “into the space”.
We at M&D Care believe that all people within services should have equal opportunity and receive support in an environment that meets their needs. Ynystawe will be housed with a full team of relevant behavioural practitioners and there will be interventions and supervisions with our onsite behaviourist and positive behavioural interventionists.
We are thrilled to welcome you to the management team Sion, and wish you all the best in your new role.
